Day to day itinerary details
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, spend the rest of the day relaxing and preparing for your safari. Overnight: Entebbe
After breakfast, travel west toward Kibale National Park, passing through Uganda’s green countryside and rolling landscapes. Arrive in the Kibale area in the afternoon and settle into your lodge. If time allows, enjoy an optional nature walk or simply relax ahead of the next morning’s chimpanzee trek. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Wake early and transfer to the designated briefing point for the Chimpanzee Habituation Experience. Unlike standard chimpanzee tracking, this experience allows you to accompany researchers and habituators as they follow a chimpanzee community that is becoming accustomed to human presence. Once seen, spend upto 4 hours in the forest observing the chimpanzees as they move through the canopy and forest floor, feed, communicate, groom and interact with one another. The experience offers a deeper look at chimpanzee behaviour and the work involved in habituating wild chimpanzees for research and controlled tourism. Return to your lodge after the experience and enjoy a relaxing evening. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
After breakfast, travel south toward Queen Elizabeth National Park. Enter the park and begin your big-game experience with a game drive across the savannah. Look out for elephants, buffalo, Uganda kob, warthogs, lions, hyenas and other wildlife. Later, enjoy a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, where large numbers of hippos, crocodiles, buffalo, elephants and waterbirds can often be seen along the shoreline. The combination of forest primates and savannah wildlife makes this one of the most varied days of the safari. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
After breakfast, continue south through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Enjoy a game drive while searching for wildlife, including Ishasha’s famous tree-climbing lions. Continue through the changing landscapes of southwestern Uganda toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Arrive in southern Bwindi in the afternoon and settle into your lodge. Spend the evening relaxing and preparing for your Gorilla Habituation Experience the following morning. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
After an early breakfast, transfer to the briefing point for the Gorilla Habituation Experience. Meet your Uganda Wildlife Authority guides, trackers and researchers before entering Bwindi’s rainforest in search of a mountain gorilla family undergoing habituation. The Gorilla Habituation Experience allows visitors to accompany researchers and habituators as part of the process of gradually introducing gorillas to controlled human presence. Once the mountain gorillas are seen, you can spend up to four hours with the gorillas, giving you considerably more time than a standard gorilla trek. Watch the family feed, rest, groom, play and move through the forest while gaining a deeper understanding of their individual personalities, social relationships and conservation. Afterwards, return to your lodge for a well-earned rest and your final evening in Bwindi. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
After breakfast, transfer to Kisoro Airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Entebbe. Enjoy spectacular aerial views of southwestern Uganda before arriving in Entebbe for your onward international flight or additional night. Meals: Breakfast & Lunch
