Rhino Trekking

Rhino trekking is done on foot, and that single fact makes it one of the most thrilling encounters on safari. Approaching one of the world's most endangered mammals at ground level, with only distance and an expert ranger's judgement between you and it, is quieter and more charged than any sighting from a vehicle. After a careful briefing, you set out on foot with trained rangers who track the animals daily, following signs through the bush until you reach a safe viewing distance of a grazing rhino, often a mother and calf. In Uganda, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is the only place to see rhino in the wild, home to a growing population of southern white rhino and conveniently placed on the road to Murchison Falls.
