Tony Sentamu  “Owe Mbogo”

Tony was born in central Uganda among the baganda community. Tony has a calm but cheerful demeanour which quickly endears him to those he meets. Tony is a highly experienced guide of 16 years who genuinely enjoys safari experience. Tony has guided and still frequently explores Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania. 

Tony is a passionate member of the Buganda kingdom and strives to highlight the interesting cultural connection of flora and fauna to guests on safari. Tony is a firm believer in the use of the historical cultural knowledge of East Africa to reveal the biodiversity richness.  Tony also believes the cultural knowledge is key to conservation of the rich biota in Africa and indeed provides important clues to solving the ecological challenges of today.

Tony is a proud Salongo (father to twins) who enjoys spending his free time with family and learning about traditional techniques of ancient Buganda drum making craft. Tony is a member of the Mbogo (buffalo) clan in Buganda whose ancient duty is transporting and body guard services to the Kabaka(king) of Buganda. Tony’s favourite animal is of course the buffalo!
