The big game drive is the classic African safari experience, and the heart of any Buutu Safaris adventure. Setting out in an open 4x4 with an expert driver-guide, you head into the wilderness in search of the continent's most iconic wildlife, from the Big Five to cheetahs, giraffes, zebras and vast herds of plains game. Drives usually run in the early morning, when predators are still active and the light is soft, and again in the late afternoon as the heat fades and animals return to water, with your guide reading tracks, sharing knowledge and staying in radio contact to track down the best sightings. Across our destinations, the drama unfolds differently: the tree-climbing lions of Queen Elizabeth, the elephant herds of Chobe, the Great Migration on the plains of the Serengeti and Masai Mara.
