Set off at 07:00 am for Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Upon arrival, head to the offices for a briefing. Thereafter your ranger will lead you into the savannah grasslands in search of the rhinos. Spend an hour watching the rhinos as you listen to the great conservation efforts that have led to the reintroduction of white rhinos in Uganda wilderness. See these gigantic grazers in close proximity and observe their fascinating social dynamics.
After a lunch break, proceed to Murchison Falls National Park via the top of the falls. Experience the scenic sights of the wild as the sun sets over Murchison Falls, the world’s most powerful waterfall.
Thereafter head to the lodge for dinner and the night’s stay.
Meals: Lunch & Dinner
After breakfast, head out into the vast savannah grasslands in search of big game. Drive down the dirt roads in the open roof safari truck. Watch the famous african morning sunrise as the fresh invigorating african air fills your lungs and as the wind blows through your hair. Look out for night dwellers including the leopards, lions and hyenas, which, with a little luck, we will see before they retreat to the coolness of the thickets in the afternoon hours.
After lunch, head out for a cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls as you enjoy the unique sights of aquatic wildlife such as hippos, crocodiles and aquatic birds and the breathtaking views of the water falls. After this eventful Nile cruise, return to the lodge for dinner and the night.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
After a leisurely breakfast, fly to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest where you will arrive in the afternoon. Uganda Bwindi gorilla trekking is a once in a life time experience so we’ll take time to prepare in the evening. Unwind in the serene tropical forest of Bwindi lodge as you prepare for the action filled day of gorilla trekking.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
On this gorilla in Uganda safari, we’ll trek in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to the biggest number of mountain gorillas among all national parks. After briefing at 08:00 am, we’ll head into the depth of the jungle for what is a most unique wilderness experience. The rangers will walk you down the narrow forest paths through thick undergrowth. Once found, the rangers will brief us through the dos and don’ts before making any contact with the mountain gorillas.
We’ll spend up to 1 hour watching the gorillas in their natural habitat. We’ll get in proximity with the gorillas as you quietly observe the gorillas play, eat, forage, groom, sleep and if we are lucky, we’ll get to watch the gorillas mate. This once in a lifetime experience will give us unique insights into the life and social dynamics of the gorilla families. Gorilla watching also gives us a chance to observe the uncanny similarities between gorillas and human beings and gorillas with whom we share 98% DNA. If we are lucky, we will experience the playfully exuberant energy of the juvenile gorillas who often skip from branch to branch and play with heightened enthusiasm when in the presence of humans.
After seeing the mountain gorillas, we’ll break for a picnic lunch in the forest before embarking on the hike back to the gorilla lodge.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
After a leisurely breakfast, drive to Lake Bunyonyi where you will arrive in time for lunch.
In the afternoon hours choose from a range of activities including swimming, canoe rides, zip lining and hiking.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Spend the morning at your leisure. In the afternoon, we will start our excursion to Joshua’s Island where we are in for a treat and a feel of the local life in Lake Bunyonyi. Learn to make a rolex and see how traditional millet beer is made as you hang out at local bar and in a homestead. Option of hiking, quad biking and swimming in the lake are also on offer.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
