- Scenic views of Rwanda’s rolling Hills
Itinerary
Set off for a 4 – 5 hour drive from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park. Arrive and settle in at your lodge as you prepare for your next days’ trek.
Accommodation: One & Only Gorilla’s Nest Lodge
Meals: Lunch & Dinner
After breakfast, we’ll head to the park office for a briefing before heading to the depth of the jungle for what is a most unique wilderness experience. Thereafter, the rangers will walk you down the narrow forest paths through thick undergrowth. Once found, the rangers will brief us through the dos and don’ts before making any contact with the mountain gorillas. We’ll spend up to 1 hour watching the gorillas in their natural habitat. We’ll get in proximity with the gorillas as you quietly observe them play, eat, forage, groom, sleep and sometimes watch them mate. After trekking, we’ll break for lunch in the forest before embarking on the hike back to the starting point. After a long day’s trek, return to the lodge.
