The Best Time to Travel – June – August
Experience and witness the great Migration of over a million wildebeests and zebras crossing to the Serengeti National Reserve. The annual migration sees 1.5 million wildebeest, 400,000 zebra and antelopes traverse the plains in a circular. When the herds reach the Mara they must cross the river, creating a wildlife phenomenon like no other. We’ll also visit the world’s largest volcanic caldera, Ngorongoro crater.

Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up at Kilimanjaro Airport & Drive to Serengeti

Set off at 08:00 am for the Serengeti via the Ngorongoro crater. Stop for lunch at the scenic Ngorongoro crater viewpoint. Thereafter continue the journey into the vast plains of the Serengeti where you arrive in time for an eventful evening game drive. Drive to the lodge afterwards for the night’s stay.

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park

After a bush breakfast in the scenic savannah grasslands, we’ll start the day off with another game drive through the Serengeti plains. We’ll spend the day exploring the wonders of the vast Serengeti plains where we expect to see herds of wildebeest, zebra, elephants, buffalo and other grazers. Also expect to see big cats including lions and cheetahs.
After the morning session we will break off for a picnic lunch as we prepare to explore more in the afternoon. We’ll move with herds as we watch the action in one of Africa’s most populous national parks.
Return to the lodge in the evening for unwinding.

Day 3: Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for Game drive

After breakfast, we’ll leave the Serengeti as we make our way back to the Ngorongoro crater, one of the most exhilarating conservation areas. This ancient volcanic crater has Africa’s highest density of big animals like rhinos, lions, elephants, zebra and more.
We’ll descend into the crater where you’ll find numerous wildlife concentrated in the small crater for unique game viewing. In addition to the big game above expect to see ostriches and hyenas as well as pink flamingos that often reside in the lake. Thereafter, retire to our lodge on the edge of the crater rim at the day’s end.

Day 4: Transfer to Arusha Airport

After a leisurely breakfast by the scenic crater rim, we’ll embark on the drive back to Arusha town or airport where our safari will end.
