Itinerary
Fly for 1 hour from Entebbe to Kihihi. Upon arrival, your guide will drive you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park where you will settle into your lodge as you prepare for your next days’ trek.
Meals: Lunch & Dinner
Enjoy an early breakfast, start the unforgettable hike across the forest to Rushaga using the Ivy’s Trail. (6/7 km – 5/6 hours). Look out for monkeys, duikers, bush pigs, and some of Bwindi’s world-renowned bird species that can be sighted during your walk through this pristine dense African jungle. With luck, a family of mountain gorillas may cross your trail. Arrive in the early afternoon and settle in at the forest lodge in Rushaga.

After an early breakfast, head to the park office at 08:00 am for a briefing. Thereafter, walk into the depth of the jungle for what is arguably one of the most unique wilderness experiences. Walk down the narrow forest paths and make your way through thick undergrowth with the bird sounds in the background as you search for the gorilla families. Trekking can take between 2-6 hours. However, once found the experience of watching these incredible primates in their natural habitat is well worth every ounce of energy expended on the tiring forest trails. It is most advisable for trekkers to be in good physical condition before embarking on the trails. Get in proximity with the gorillas as you watch the gorillas eat, groom and play. Return to the lodge or transfer for the night.

After a leisurely breakfast, drive a bit and start your walk to the pristine lake Bunyonyi. Enter a dugout canoe that will take you to the shores of lake Bunyonyi where your guide will be waiting to transfer you to the lodge. Settle in your lodge as you unwind the past safari experiences.

Start your day with an excursion to Joshua’s Island where we are in for a treat and a feel of the local life in Lake Bunyonyi. Learn to make a rolex and see how traditional millet beer is made as you hang out at local bar and in a homestead. Visit the batwa community to see how these ancient men and women have since coped with life outside the forest.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
After breakfast, embark on a 3-4 hours drive to Lake Mburo NP. Check in to the beautiful lodge for a brief siesta before you embark on an evening walking safari. Explore the lush savannah grasslands which are home to giraffes, zebras, giraffes and various antelopes which you will see during the walk. Return to the lodge for dinner & overnight.

After breakfast, embark on a short game drive for a chance to see yet more game. Thereafter, drive for 4- 5 hours to Entebbe where you’ll arrive in the evening. This will mark the end of your safari.
